The concept of the blue book is to provide an average list of prices for any given item based on user input. It would be a resource that Crafters could use to base their selling prices off of. Given enough popularity this could drastically reduce undercutting and in turn make all of us wealthier. The item database would work something like this:

User 1 input -- Paper sells for 2 gold
User 2 input -- Paper sells for 1 gold

The listed price of Paper would then be 1.5g, and would continue to fluctuate as more and more users input data. Accuracy would also increase with numbers. The blue book would also be an excellent resource for new players or crafters that have no idea what a given item might sell for. All of the listed numbers must be prices that another player character actually bought the item for.

This is just an idea at the moment as I am not sure how high the demand might be for this type of resource. Comments and critiques are more than welcome! Let me know if this would be something that you would interested in using/contributing to.

Does it count that I'm willing to buy the said items at this price? :

Iron ore/bar- 2g/5,5g
Timber/wood - 1,8g/4,35g
cooked fish 2g

Edit:
Bought 2 banded sets for 225g a set, resold for 275g.
(my personal effort to fight against deflation)

If you get anyone to sell iron ingots for 1.9g then more power to you as that's more than cheap. Leather price is high as you can buy them for 4g per at the vendor alrdy.

These prices you've listed are what the economy has dictated to US not what we've come up with. An example is your banded cost. You have it listed at 250. it costs 273 to make, If you add time put into making it - it should be 300.

again, arrows: that should be the bare minimum because the material costs are such that selling arrows at 0.5 will allow you to break even. That doesnt account for failures and time spent making them.

Ore/ingots: 2gp, 5-6gp. perhaps we're in different areas of the world, but i think you might have a hard time finding someone willing to sell ore for anything less than 2, and ingots for anything less than 5: its even starting to creep to 6 now because of availability.

My prices:

Ore 2gp
Ingot 5gp
Timber 2gp
Wood 5gp

Rafts 1,620 to make, sells for 2,000 to 2,500. (a failure eats up alot of resources, atleast 500gp worth - Anything lower than 2000 is just ripping yourself off).

Banded 273 to make, sell for 300 (will not go lower than 275)
Scale 444 to make, Sells for 600 (will not go lower than 550)
Plate sells for 1400 - not sure what the cost to craft is.

Arrows 0.5 to make, sells for 0.75 (for smaller quantities) - will not go lower than 0.6.

I think we're going to see a artificial low on market prices for awhile yet. A large number of crafters are turning out low/mid level armor during the levelling process. These are being sold CHEAP in a attempt to simply "clear the shelves" and to get a bit of coin to continue on.

Using banded armor as a example, I see 250 to 275 being a reasonable price since I do most of my own harvesting and I suppose I don't put a high value on my game time :?

300 is probably ideal but the actual price at which they move is closer to 200 and occasionally 175.

Hopefully as the market matures we'll begin to see more realistic prices and more customers with bulging pockets willing to pay them.

If you value lumber and iron 2g each and have a success rate of 96% on iron ingots, wood and arrows, you can sell arrows at 0.543g each to go even (no income except skills).

Well, the problem is, we can't create an artificial high price on stuff ( or can we :-p )
As i see it right now, i am not willing to sell my iron ore for less then 4g, and now most of you will think, WHAT! double the normal price! but consider this. No one is selling iron ores, it is a sellers market!

I could see selling Iron ore at 4g each. If they were in stack of 50-100+
But at 4g each with only 10 or so to sell...Most people could just mine that in a few mins.
Also I like taking into account the 'cost' of my time to harvest those materials. If I spend so many hours straight harvesting materials than why should I settle for selling it at an NPC price?

If people could do that, yes they should, but a lot of them are greedy or don't want to spend the time. And with so few iron sellers, they have to pay the price or mine themselves, which they don't want to
