I am currently toying with the idea of writing my BBA thesis on the subject of “Uniformities of a market economy in a virtual world” (or something like that - and yes, my teachers approved this as a valid topic for a thesis if done properly). In practice this would mean either running my own clan (of which I’m not all that interested in) or having a decisive role in an already existing one.

I’m more than happy to let someone else lead as long as they play along with my attempts to perform some empirical research from time to time. This could mean anything from trying to double the price of bread for one week to whatever else seems appropriate. Other than that, any role of a crafter/merchant/negotiator is fine by me. This will be my only/last MMORPG and I am planning on spending an unhealthy amount of time playing it.

So, anyone interested?

thats really interesting, I can not help you with what you seek but i would love to see the result of your quest, so if by the time you have finished it if you don't care maybe you can share with us what you have written?

Sounds like a great idea! If you had've posted this about two years earlier I would have been more than willing to take a lead in something like this; these days I'm studying my Masters and will be fighting with myself (and gf and cat) to find time to play I fear. Though I will happily lend a hand any way that I can. I have run a few guilds in my time and also have an healthy understanding of economics (studied politics and history previously with too healthy a dose of macro-economics in there). Should be fun though! I want to be kept up to date with your progress!

I go back to finish up my BA then get my DR come this aug.. since ill be moving to a friary then seminary.. this is also my last mmo for about 5 years from the end of summer. I might be able to play again after the schooling, but as i will be both a priest and friar who knows.

Even though you are going to be an ork, you are welcome to come take a look at our glades (forums), about half of us are going mahirim or grou as well call ourself. We could use a couple more dedicated crafters, can probaly find a slot with us making stuff. We do allow any race to join, pending your blue.. if ya do end up going red, thats easy enough to fix with our multi-racial mix.

I can not however promise you a officer role, as well thats got to be earned in game, the current officers we have (all 4 of us) have all served in one form or another about 24 years combined of tsg leadership already. But each of us needs seekers (LT officers) so you might be able to prove yerself and find a place with Hearth (our craft/supply order). I lead our Harvest order, which is support for hearth so they have the resources to craft what is needed and also deals with anything pve related and the lesser city/hamlet defences. the third order is the Hunt, which deals with well.. hunting players. the other officer is our matron, Hearth, Hunt and Harvest all report to her and serve as her LT's.

Due to some confusion on my part, i must withdraw my offer to you. I miss read our racial restrictions, we are not allowing orcs or alfar to enter the clan without a 2/3 majority vote of full members and at this point atleast 50% would vote no, reguardless of the reason why you wish to join.

I am interested yes, but I am afraid I plan to be un-clanned for a good majority of my beginings in Agon. Although, I would be more than happy to help you with any sort of Mercenary or Crafting work once in-game. I only ask that you relenquish your findings once it is all said and done ^.^
